Empowering innovative drug development
BlueWave Biotechnology was established by seasoned biotech entrepreneur Bart Wuurman. He is an accomplished biotech CEO and non-Executive Company Director, with strong hands-on experience in Strategic Leadership, Fundraising and Business Development. A pharmaceutical scientist by training, he has contributed for 34 years to building innovative R&D based life sciences companies in The Netherlands, the UK, Australia and in Belgium.
As biotech Executive and CEO he was instrumental to several successful exits, including the IPO of UK based Antisoma on the London Stock Exchange and the trade sale of Lanthio Pharma to MorphoSys.
Having worked with start-ups as well as larger biotech and pharma companies, Bart has broad experience in managing innovative pharmaceutical drug discovery and development companies, in many therapeutic areas, including cancer, immunology, fibrosis and ageing related diseases.
Bart Wuurman was responsible for raising over $60m equity financing and for closing licensing deals worth over $700m.
